Seahawks sign LB Bruce Irvin to $7 million contract extension

The Seattle Seahawks are close to re-signing linebacker Bruce Irving, a source told NFL Network’s Michael Rothstein.

Irving, who signed a three-year, $7.5 million deal last week, was expected to sign with the Seahawks on Thursday.

The former Ohio State Buckeyes All-Pro was released by the team in August after just one season with the team.

The deal with the Broncos was one of the most lucrative of the offseason.

The 31-year-old Irvin played in 16 games with the Cardinals last season, starting eight.

He was an All-NFL second team selection in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
